Local 16 is apparently where Politicos go, or at least the two consecutive days that I was there. First, for the annual State of the Union Party, which was packed with so much energy that a young woman a few feet away from me actually fainted. People laughed at the Speaker as he would choke up, his face getting redder that it already is and his eyes would water like he was staring straight into a UV light. The more he cried, the more we drank.
The next day was the Launch of the Fearless Campaign. http://www.fearlesscampaign.com
Jared Polis, a 35 year young Representative from Boulder, Colorado, was very successful with internet businesses, so he sold his companies and ran for Congress. Strongly energetic, fiercely progressive, and openly gay, Rep. Kuchinich says he's a "rising star of politics, not just the democratic party".
He founded the Fearless Campaign to encourage politicians of any party, to vote fearlessly. He is pushing harder than anyone on the hill to reform the major policy change we need. Issues include Immigration reform, education reform, food policy, LGBT, 'Freeweb' (Net Neutrality), and of course, Drug Policy. This is the REAL DEAL. Got to the site right now, for real. http://www.fearlesscampaign.com/pages/about-drug-policy
